Sam Short, Kyle Chalmers, and Cam McEvoy showcased their unstoppable talent, while Ariarne Titmus and Mollie O’Callaghan shattered world records with their awe-inspiring swims.
The Australian Swimmers weren’t the only ones breaking world records, however! Sarah Sjöstrom’s sensational 50m Freestyle and Ruta Meilutytė’s stunning 50m Breaststroke records added to the excitement, while Qin Haiyang’s unexpected 200m breaststroke victory took the swimming world by storm. Not to forget Leon Russian’s mind-blowing 400m IM, breaking Michael Phelps’s untouchable record.
Two extraordinary swimmers, Qin Haiyang and Kaylee McKeon, earned medal trebles in their respective strokes, marking a new era in breaststroke and backstroke events. While the British men’s freestyle relay put a disappointing disqualification in the 4x100m behind them, to win the 4x200m event, reaffirming their position as the world’s top team. With their eyes set on the Paris 2024 Olympics, Team GB looks poised for gold medal contention.
