The latest Olympic swimming event in Paris’ River Seine has gone ahead after organisers said water quality tests showed it was clean enough.

But multiple athletes have fallen ill after taking part in previous events.

Dr. Primrose Freestone, an associate professor in clinical microbiology at the University of Leicester, tells The World the levels of e-coli detected suggests certain bacteria levels may have been dangerous.
