With temperatures hovering in the 90s this summer, many people are looking to the water to cool off.
But a new study found many parts of Tennessee’s rivers are too polluted to swim in.
Using Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) data, researchers looked at more than 16,000 miles of the state’s rivers creeks and streams.
And they found nearly 60% of those waters are impaired by pollutants.
