Team GB have another gold in the pool!
Duncan Scott extends his lead over the chasing pack and gives himself some breathing space, building a lead of over a second from Team USA with 50 metres to go.
Scott keeps pulling away and safely touches the wall to give Team GB a dominant win! They post a time of 6:59.43 and defend their gold from Tokyo!
The United States take silver, with Australia finishing in the bronze position.
