The Brazilian men’s team, consisting of Luiz Melo, Fernando Scheffer, Leanardo Santos, and Breno Correia upset Russia, China, and the USA, and with a winning effort from Lane 7 took the gold and crushed the previous World Record mark of 6:49.04 set by Russia back in 2010 with a new World Record time of 6:46.81.
