Veteran Turns From Gold-Medal Swimming to Triathlons

Brad Snyder is a veteran of our nation’s wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. He was blinded in 2011 when he stepped on an IED, but he considers himself lucky to have walked away from the incident. He took his determination to the Paralympic games, where he medaled in swimming seven times — including three golds and a world record in 2016. Now, he has become a triathlete, with hopes to represent his country yet again. His is a veterans’ story of strength and courage, both internal and external. NBC10’s Lucy Bustamante reports.
