CDC issues warning on hotel swimming pools

Planning on going swimming while on vacation this summer? The CDC said on Thursday that an estimated 27,000 people were sickened, and eight died, from swimming-related disease from 2000 to 2014 in hotel pools and hot tubs.

  1. But if hotel pools are 1/3 of all pool exposure for the general population, them being the cause of 1/3 the illness is to be expected. Without some correlating data this is not surprising or that informative. Any pool with more elderly, casual swimmer and children as opposed to people exercising will contain more types of bacterial flora/fauna and more types of lotion chemicals.
