Meet the man who’s preparing to swim the Atlantic Ocean

If the Christmas excess still isn’t budging and you’re thinking about getting round to some exercise – how’s this for motivation? In a few weeks, Ben Hooper, a former policeman, will try to become first person to swim the Atlantic Ocean – more than one thousand, eight hundred miles of it. But it’s not only the huge distance he’ll have to overcome – there are sharks and jellyfish too. Simon Vigar went to see him in training.
