The current meals of Nguyen Thi Anh Vien, Vietnam’s young talented swimmer, in Florida, USA are huge. She has to eat one kilogram of beef, 50 shrimps, a big plate of noodles, a salad plate, nearly one liter of fresh milk, not to mention fruits in a single meal.

This menu is certainly different and far beyond that of any athlete of Vietnam and it approaches the standard for the greatest swimmer in history – Michael Phelps. It was suggested by Vien’s American experts based on the actual characteristics of the body and the needs for exercise.

Only with such food, can Vien ensure enough power at approximately 4,000 calories to maintain daily workouts of 6-7 hours at high intensity. But it is uneasy to eat such a huge amount of food, especially for a girl. To be able to eat in a professional way, Vien used to eat and cry at the same time, and had to have break a few times during a meal.

Vien’s coach – Mr. Dang Anh Tuan said that Vien’s exercises are enhanced and her rations are also increased. He will have a headache to find ways for Vien to adapt well to it.
