Water level rising as planned in the Box in Herning

Wednesday 4 December 2013 at 18:00, 25-year-old Chris Christensen had the honor to begin the filling of the 2013 European Short Course Championships pools, on behalf of the Danish national swimming team and federation. This event will be his 8th European Championships, and the first ever in which the Danes have home advantage.

– “This is just wild. Next week my family and friends will be sitting here,” says Christensen.

It takes 24 hours to fill the competition pool – and a little less to fill the a bit smaller warm-up pool. A total of 2.4 million liters of water, that then needs to be heated from 8 degrees Celsius to the 26 that work best for swimmers.
