Seven Cameroon athletes, including the entire African nation’s boxing team and half its swimming team, were reported missing earlier this week, authorities fearing “for economic reasons”. The swimmer is Paul Ekane Edingue, gone missing before he was due to compete in the men’s 50 freestyle, none of his personal belongings were later found in his room. They are not breaking any immigration rules yet, as all visas issued to Olympic athletes, and their families, allow them to stay in the country until early November. Read The Telegraph and The BBC
