Whitner Milner died in the family pool from shallow water blackout, which experts believe to be the cause of swimming-related deaths. Rhonda Milner, MD, is working with pool expert Tom Griffiths and Clarion, the safety sign company, to bring awareness to the danger, pointing to the 3 criteria of shallow water blackout: That it is competitive, repetitive and involves over-breathing. A sobering reply to that intelligence-inducing story earlier this evening.
