Magnussen targets 3 medals in London, skips high-carb food

According to The Daily Telegraph, James Magnussen is predicting not only gold-medal success for himself in the 100 meter freestyle, but also for Australia in the men’s 4×100 relay, and then a medal in the medley relay as icing on the cake. To realize this, he has restructured his diet and increased his weight-training, gained 3 kilograms of muscle in six months, viewing food as ‘fuel in the tank’ and cutting out all unnecessary food like biscuits, sweets and anything high in carb, while building on his base. Via The Australian:

“It’s just having so much work behind me now, almost two years straight building up a big aerobic base. I can do large quantities of quality work now.”
